So, this week we went for our 6 month dental checkup. This was Sam's 3rd time, and Jack's 1st time to the dentist! Jack was understandably nervous, and really
didn't want anyone to look in his mouth. He really
doesn't let me help him brush his teeth. So, I was wondering how this would go. Sam was first, so Jack could see how easy it was to do. Sam has always had good
experiences at the dentist, so it was great for him. The result for Sam was that he was not brushing as often as needed, but we have changed that with having the habit of brushing before school every morning. His 2 bottom teeth are slightly loose, so they could be coming out sooner than expected! Which she said was normal. Sam had great x-rays with his 6 year molars ready and waiting to come in! She said he has excellent teeth, spaced evenly and perfectly! (He gets this from his daddy!). Here he is with his pink mouth!

Then, it was Jack's turn! The Dental assistant was very calm and told Jack everything she was going to do, first when she was doing Sam, and then when he sat down. I had to hold his feet while he was laid down, it made him feel better. He was such a trooper! She cleaned his teeth, at first he let her, and then he started getting anxious, but he let her finish! Then, she did the scraping thing, (they call it counting teeth), and let her do it, but, she didnt go fast enough for him, but he let her finish. He got a treat. He wasnt too happy about laying down again for the Dr. but, he did, and the dr. said he did great. We definitely have to get better brushing his teeth, he isnt ready for regular toothpaste, but we do the practice stuff. Here are pics of him:

Starting out...

He didnt mind the water so much since it got rid of the chunky stuff!

Look at those beautiful white teeth! He was a little irritated when we were done, so he wouldnt let me take anymore pics of him! I was lucky to get this one. :-)

And here are Sam's bright white teeth!

I wanted both of them...but Sam smiled for me!

I got one in the elevator when we were leaving, with our bag full of goodies (toothpaste, and tooth brushes, and floss!). Good job boys!
